We would like to acknowledge the land that we live and work on. This land is the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg and Muskegouk Nations.
The Sault Community Theatre Centre is a not-for-profit corporation operating a 907 seat (including 10 wheelchair seats) multi-purpose performing arts centre that was the result of a $2.5 million renovation and redevelopment project carried out in 1989. Since then, the organization has invested more than $3 million in improvements. As a result, the Theatre is a comfortable, climate controlled, well-equipped, state of the art performance space that is also equipped with cinema quality projection capabilities.
The Sault Community Theatre Centre is operated by a community-based working board of directors in a unique partnership with the Algoma District School Board (ADSB). The Board of Director’s mission is to provide an inclusive, multipurpose facility for the community where the performing arts thrive, and culturally diverse events are celebrated.
Our full time Technical Director and Box Office Manager are supported by a part-time team of skilled technicians and friendly front-of-house and box office staff.
The box office is conveniently located downtown within the Station Mall shopping centre. The theatre, attached to the White Pines Collegiate and Vocational School, is fully accessible, and is also equipped with assistive hearing technology.
In the late Summer of 2023, the Sault Community Theatre Centre embarked on a Resilience, Sustainability and Capacity-building Program to develop and implement a new 5-year Strategic Plan. This plan will enable us to continue to fulfill our mandate to support Sault Ste. Marie and area’s cultural development, while growing as a premier events venue and performance destination.
