The Sault Symphony Orchestra opens its new season with Symphonic Sketches, a colorful fall concert that journeys through some of the most stirring and expressive music of the orchestral repertoire.
The program begins with the proud ceremony of Walford Davies’ RCAF March Past, followed by Parry’s beloved Jerusalem and the grandeur of Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March No. 4. Verdi brings a burst of operatic drama with the powerful overture to La Forza del Destino, while Sibelius paints a vivid musical portrait of Finland in his evocative Karelia Suite.
The concert culminates with Dvořák’s magnificent Symphony No. 7 in D Minor—a passionate and deeply expressive work filled with drama, lyrical beauty, and exhilarating energy.
From ceremonial marches and operatic drama to sweeping Nordic landscapes and the rich emotion of Dvořák, Symphonic Sketches offers an engaging and memorable start to our new season.
